The castles themselves are a very cool and noteworthy feature, because what they offer is not found in pretty much any other MMORPG. 

During the calm between WOE the castle acts as sort of a base, or hangout for the guild, much like the guild hall does in Guild Wars. The guild leader can pay ragnarok zeny to stock it with NPC as well as guardians, which are extremely strong golem like creatures that will protect the castle and keep out intruders. All members of the controlling guild also get access to towns guild dungeon and more iro zeny to buy. This is a special place that only players who belong to the guilds that control the respective towns castles have access too. In the guild dungeon players can fight hardes of unique enemies not found anywhere else, as well as mini bosses, and MVP monsters. All of these monsters give a plethora of highly valuable cheap zeny and experience.

So, needless to say, if you are a high level player, then having access to one of these dungeons will be a high priority since they are essential for your advancement. Each town with guild castles has a different guild dungeon with different monsters too, though some guild dungeons are most certainly better, as well as easier than others. All in all, once you play Ragnarok Zeny, it is pretty easy to see why it is still one of the more popular MMORPGs. The game looks pretty good, though a little dated, and sounds good. The interface and controls are incredibly simple. After about a half hour or so, you should have a pretty good idea of how everything works, and really feel quite comfortable playing. The game is addictive too, and will become more so if you get ragnarok zeny or friends involved, as well as if you make new friends while playing. For that reason it should be warned that one should seriously pace themself when playing Ragnarok Zeny, as this is one of those games that has a soul devouring quality to it.
